|
|
Greetings - I searched on this topic and did not find similar troubles, so this may be a first.
I uploaded Gallery to my server, placing the folder within the modules directory. I did the CHMOD on the appropriate files and attempted to access the setup.php file to get the gallery going. I was greeted with the following error...
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: getos() in /home/httpd/vhosts/indygoth.com/httpdocs/modules/Gallery/setup/init.php on line 16
While I'm here, I also have a possibly stupid question - when many of the FAQs use the term "web root", can that also mean "the root folder of your host account". I pay a monthly fee for my space on a providers server. I certainly do not have access to "root" per se.
----
Gallery URL (optional but very useful): http://www.indygoth.com/modules/Gallery/
Gallery version: 1.4
Apache version:1.3.22
PHP version (don't just say PHP 4, please):4.1.2
Graphics Toolkit: ?
Operating system:Red Hat Linux
Web browser/version (if applicable): IE
The CONFIG lines from the top of your block file(s): ? |

Setup is trying to call the function getos() without success. I'm guessing that your install may not have been complete (some files missing). Try downloading the latest version 1.4pl1 and uploading again.
WEB ROOT is referring to the root directory of your WEBSPACE. While many have their own servers, on a virtual server this means the base directory of YOUR webspace (/home/httpd/vhosts/indygoth.com/httpdocs/) |

Thanks - that's what was up. I got through the Config Wiz, but not without so many Safe Mode errors that it made my head spin. My provider, while not completely turning off safe mode, did some work on the back end (vhost.conf edits from what they said) to allow things like user file uploading and such.
I'm not sure how much of a difference that is when it comes to running Safe Mode or in a mode that allows specific things.
When I got to the admin log in and couldn't log in with the default username and specified password, I gave up
Right now I'm trying to decide between using Gallery and Coppermine. So far Coppermine wins because it is atleast kind of running But I really like the way Gallery functions on other sites, so maybe I'll be able to get it going. |

How did you try to login?
Did you login to admin.php with your NUKE admin usr/pass - then go to GALLERY (/modules.php?name=gallery (link from navigation)) - should see GALLERY admin tools while in gallery.
or
go to /modules/gallery - then login with new user/pass that you created when you setup GALLERY? |
