User Syncronisation Problems

I have gallery2 and phpBB working fine individually, and everything works until the user synchronisation - I began with identical admin accounts on each site, and a test account on each by a different name, but have since renamed both admin accounts, changed email addresses and deleted the other accounts with no luck - it just won't sync the users. At first I found a flaw in the config file, but this appears to be solved now.

The accounts are now different in all fields, and neither has any numbers in it.

Config page shows:
/var/www/htdocs/gallery/gallery/
gallery2.php
/gallery/forum/
/../gallery
login.php
/

Gallery is installed in /gallery/gallery/ PHPBB is in /gallery/phpBB/

Any ideas?

PS. The error is the normal "The import of the following phpBB2 user_id's failed:" message, Listing the IDs of any users on phpBB.

yes, if the username is either a duplicate (of another phpBB username, or a gallery username) , or all numbers, the import will fail. what were the usernames that failed?

The Combinations have been:

phpBB | Gallery
===========
Martin | Martin
Martin | MartinS
MartinS | Martin
Martin | admin
Stone | admin
Stoner | admin
Stoner | Martin

I have also at a few stages has these usernames with phpBB: test, meme
and these with Gallery: test
The "test" accounts were removes and the Martin accounts renamed after I read the suggestion given with the first error message.

is this list before or after the import of the users?

Each entry in the list is before a separate synchronisation attempt. The gallery users table is never altered - only noticeable difference to gallery is that it logs me out.

I had a simialr problem to this. it created the users the first time I ran the script, but if I deleted any of the users from Gallry, they would not reimport from phpBB...
