First there's the gallery available here. v 1.3.4-pl1. Then the current build at sourceforge and then the numerous cvs builds at jpmullens site. Oh and not to mention Gallery 2.x. What I would like to know is this:
Quote: › Which one of the many downloadable versions of gallery should I use that will install as easily as the readme file says, with the current build of Nuke 6.7, available from the snapshot of the CVS at Nuke Cops.
I am just searching for the one that is supposed to work with Nuke 6.7 |

the latest release is the latest stable.
the CVS on sourceforge (and corresponding ones on jmullans site) are unstable (though i use them without problems here and on phpnuke.nukedgallery.net).
for a first time user, get the stable release and work from there. _________________

OK, did that. Uploaded all of the files into a gallery directory under nuke modules. Created empty config.php and .htaccess and gave them 777 permissions. Gave the setup directory 755 permissions and then, went to the gallery directory directly using http:www.mysite/modules/gallery/index.php as the address and got the following message:
Code: › Fatal error: Call to undefined function: checkifonlineoroffline() in /home/myusername/public_html/modules/gallery/init.php on line 101
So then, I went into the Nuke admin mode, activated the module for admin viewing only and tried to go there using the admin menu from nuke and got the same error.
That's the problem I'm referring to, I don't really want to have to Quote: › work from there . I want an integrated photo album that will work as advertised as a nuke module. Do you have any suggestions, or will you look at the site directly. I will pm you the specifics if you would help me out. I'm just beginning to understand some of what's going on with PHP but am no script whiz. I'd appreciate the help as this is a site that I am paying for and trying to donate to our church camp. |

if you get the latest release candidate and unzip it into your modules directory, you should be ready to go. run configure.sh to get to the config mode (http://yourserver.com/modules/gallery/setup/index.php) and the secure.sh once yuo're done. that's all that's needed. no file creation/permission changing. _________________

it was an old function removed many many revisions ago...an upgrade is the answer. _________________

You're right!
I've got so many copies of gallery on my hard drive I hardly know which one is the best (per my first post). Anyway, when I downloaded the gallery version from the link in the left column of your site, and installed it everything went mucho better. The checkifofflineoronline function error went away and things went smoothly. For the other first timers there was just one more confusing thing that happened.
The readme.txt file just says to Quote: › go to your gallery page when you're ready to configure it. So, after I chmodded the setup directory and created the config.php and .htaccess file, I was going to the Quote: › modules/gallery/index.php file and getting nowhere. Once I went to Quote: › modules/gallery/setup/index.php things started to look a lot better.
Thanks for a first time installer needing your help, and the fast response. |
