I am running PHP-Nuke 6.5 with Gallery 1.3.4 . If you have not upgraded to Gallery 1.3.4, I would recommend it as the upgrade process is very easy to do, and there are added benefits.

I was having the same problems/errors as everyone has been reporting, but have fixed my errors. Unfortunately in my haste to fix these errors, I failed to write down the *exact* error codes, but I do remember they were similar, if not exactly, as the ones being reported here. Here is what I have done to fix my errors:

1. DELETE from your directories (Gallery, Nuke/Blocks) any random block you may have downloaded for this.

2. DELETE the files from your gallery/albums directory that may have been created by the random block, such as daily.jpg, daily.txt, random.jpg, block-random.cache, random.cache, etc.

3. Download (yes, again) and unzip the BLOCK-RANDOM_IMPROVED.ZIP files.

4. Download and unzip the Updated Gallery Files for 1.3.4-CVS from this website.

5. From the BLOCK-RANDOM.PHP file, I removed the "/" on line 32 from the . "block-random.cache" statement. It now looks like this:
Code: › define(CACHE_FILE, $gallery->app->albumDir . "block-random.cache");

6. Edit the new INIT.PHP file you downloaded as part of the Upgraded Gallery Files, and comment out line 101 so that it looks like this:
Code: › /*checkIfOnlineOrOffline();

7. Make sure you know the FULL path to your Gallery directories. For me, it is: /www/j/jmelcher/htdocs/modules/gallery/
If you are not sure, ask your hosting provider.

8. Create an emtpy/blank "block-random.cache" file.

9. Upload all the files you downloaded and those that you modified to their appropriate directories.

That's it. It works for me with no problems. I use the RANDOM option and everytime I refresh the page, I see a different photo.

I'm not very good at PHP... what I have figured out is just by trial and error. If you play around with your files a lot, make sure you rename the original files by adding something like "_original" to the filename or something that you won't overwrite by mistake.

If you have any questions, post here and I'll try to help as much as possible. Like I said, I'm PHP illiterate, but I can usually tinker enough to figure it out.

excellent post Smile
my blocks are developed on whatever version of nuke/gallery/php/mysql i currently have running (right now: 6.5 and 6.7/1.3.5-cvs-b22/4.3.2/3.23.56, respectively). It's tough to test these things out on all configs, so i appreciated the help you've provided here.

No problem, Dari. Thanks for providing your website and your knowledge to help us better our sites. I've been running Gallery since February, and PHPNuke since April. I've gone back and forth from a more traditional HTML website to a Nuke site... tried PostNuke and PHPNuke and have finally decided that I like PHPNuke better. There seems to be more/better support and blocks/modules for PHP than Post Nuke.

Anyway, I'm just glad that I can start giving back to the Nuke community after so many months of taking. As I'm sure anyone can attest to, setting it up ain't easy, but not too difficult either. Once all the bugs are worked out and you have it the way you want it, it can be a pretty slick system.
