Preview of the UCP module I'm working on. Still got a fair amount of code to go, but the module is coming together...

I think this is a great idea. If you need any help, I would be glad to assist. I am still fairly new to both Gallery2 and phpBB3, however I am fairly good at php and sql programming. One more feature which would be ideal would be to select a picture to replace the avatar in various listings.
One thing I would be happy to help with is making it more user friendly. It is important to remember that this is the user control panel rather than admin so terms like Gallery2 may be confusing to the average user.
The first setting is somewhat streight forward. Where the settings are yes/no, the description may be easier if worded as a question. Like for the second setting, "Do you want gallery item links displayed in your profile?" The third setting is asking, I think, if the profile should show items as either links or pictures, but it is a yes/no response.
I don't mean to criticize minor details, but these are things which I can help with if you would like me to help develop a more well rounded user friendly module. |

Suggestions are always good!
An avatar selection from gallery is on the list for the ucp, but may be a second generation feature because it is more complicated than just showing images and links in the profiles as it has to interact more with the phpbb code and there are size restrictions to consider, etc.
I actually did change the wording some later on because I didn't like it either, but the preview was mostly a copy of the acp settings (which could probably be improved also). Maybe there is still room for improvement, but this is what it looks like now -
This one with features disabled at the admin level -
Comments/suggestions welcome. If you would like to see it worded differently, feel free to send things to me or post here. This is still in early development stages so everything is subject to change. I'm only getting an hour or two here and there to work on it, so it may be a while before anything is ready for public consumption. |

I had a little time the last couple days and was able to get all this working. I eliminated the gallery album setting at the ucp level because g2image can only select images, not albums and that is what I'm using to do the item selection. Didn't think it would be much of a problem since most average users will not have a large number of albums to choose from anyway.
So if the admin has enabled links and/or items, the users can independently turn links on or off and independently turn items in their profiles on or off and can select which items to display and order them however they want.
It should be easy to add a random option so a random set of items gets displayed, so I'll look into that one and also look into using a gallery image as an avatar next. |

Preview page - Selecting Gallery2 image as avatar. This seems to be all working now.

Tweaked things up some more in the UCP Gallery2 settings. Got the random image option working now in user profiles. Also, discovered the Yahoo User Interface that comes with Gallery2 to pop up theme previews in the Gallery admin plugins page. Used it to do the same with screenshots in the UCP to help explain what the options do for phpbb users.
