Joomla <-> phpBB <-> Gallery 2 integration

I am building a site powered with Joomla and i have installed the Joomla to phpBB bridge and it will syncronize users between Joomla and phpBB. My question now is if it is a wise move to use Nuke integration between phpBB and Gallery 2.

Will a new user in Joomla automaticlaly become a new user in Gallery 2 through the phpBB integration in both ends?

The reason I am asking this rather than use the direct Joomla to Gallery integration is that I want to restrict upload and gallery management to specific groups within phpBB.

There is maybe a smarter route to this. I have also JUGA group access module to control specific access to the Joomla site. I am at the moment not clear about JUGA and if it will provide the necceassary controls I need for thsi site.

The site is for a autoclub with 900 members that should have access to a memberarea on the site (site, phpBB, Gallery). The other 1000+ users in phpBB should not have access to the memberarea.

We also have a registry of all clubmembers in php/mySql and I am going to use that registry to activate a user to the memberarea in Joomla when they become active members i.e when they have payed the membership.
