|

| My ISP had a native load of Gallery that I used and it worked fine. However, I want to incorporated it as part of my nuke site (ala mod). Is there a standalone mod that I can load up and point it to my already existing Gallery... or something to that affect? |

you need to make sure the gallery is installed within the modules directory- it should then (eventually) show up in your modules so you can change access (admin/ registered users/ visitors etc) and it will need to be activated also., etc. You may need to re-run the gallery config if you get any particular problems/ issues.

What you can do is install Gallery2 into a folder called gallery2.
or rename the current install you have, to gallery2...
NOTE: this saves you from download, unzipping, and then uploading the needed gallery files. You just need to make sure its a current version with all the needed files. You can check the version by typing the path to the install folder. www.yoursite.com/gallery/install
This would save 20 minutes of uploading.
Move that folder in your main website into the modules folder.
run the install program that will set up database ect.
it will be www.yoursite.com/modules/gallery2/install
when you run this, it will tell you the version. Make sure its a currnet one. Think its 2.1
you will need to add a few things such as your database name and pw.
you can get this by downloading you config.php file and looking about 3 pages down using wordpad. note don't include the "" around the names.
Go through the install proceedures.
Then run gallery and test it is working as a standalone.
If so, then u need to upload the nuke pack. its called phpnuke_062
Once this is done, go to Admin and activate the module.
There are 3 steps which are easy. Follow the instructions.
And then its all actived.
Next, you need to activate the 2 blocks in admin/ blocks.
You will need to delete the old database that gallery2 made when you installed that. No point using up web space.
good luck. |
