I am setting up a Whats on guide for my local town, using PHPNuke as the foundation.

I need the ability to setup sections related to Live Music, Pubs, Clubs etc

Within each of those sections I will list the names of individual venus and allow a specified users (eg the Pub Owner) to change the content in that section.

I would also need to list content for each venu by date, so that visitors can search for Live Music at xxxxx Pub between xxxx and xxxx dates.

Does anyone know if there is any module available that is close to this.

Thanks
Simon

the calendar module(s) that are available may be able to do this.

you may also want to look into using standalone phpBB w/ Smartor's ezPortal and the phpBB calendar MOD that is available. this would allow you to use the phpBB forum search functionality...

Thanks for that Dari,

I already looked at that option, but if I had 50 pubs and 20 night clubs it would be a long page list of pubs. I am a PHP developer so may have to write my own but just need to find the time.

Being new to PHPNUKE, can I write a stand alone application and then integrate into PHPNUKE as a module. If so, are there any development instructions, so that I can integrate PHPNUKE's themes etc in to my design?

Thanks again for your help Dari.

it should be fairly simple to create a mysql driven module that does what you want it to do. the phpnuke docs list general coding guidelines for modules, and the security patches from chatserv have some good hints on making sure your code is secure.

if you need any assistance (which i doubt you will, given that it sounds like you're fluent in php), feel free to continue this thread, or take it to email.

Sorry to post this here...

I'm wondering if there's some kind of noob tutorial built into this site that shows me how to get started using php nuke. I'm brand new and have no idea how to use it but would very much like to learn.

Again I'm sure this isn't the place to post stuff like this but I'm erally frustrated and in a bind. Much apologies.
