Although permissions are set for user, they are denied upload access unless I set it to EVERYONE in which case it works flawlessly. Unfortunately, this doesn't work for obvious reasons.
Running PHPNUKE 7.2 with the gallery 1.4.3-pl2
Thoughts? |

| Additionally, the operating system is FreeBSD 4.9. I did not install the gallery from the ports. |

| Upon further investigation we've noticed that it also does not fill the field when a comment is made. It seems that anything that requires that popup window does not authenticate correctly. Hope this helps? |

oy...ok, first, if possible, upgrade to 1.4.4-pl2. lots of fixes (features and security).
so you're trying to let LOGGED-IN users upload into your gallery, but it will only let you if it is set to EVERYBODY? first thing i'd check is the permissions (read/write/create/etc) on the album in which you want users to be able to upload. _________________

I do have the 1.4 Vs downloaded from your site. The trouble is I live in the wilds on Cumbria (Northern England) and don't have ADSL yet! (Coming soon), so I was putting off the inevietable....
The particular album permissions are set OK, really, when I set up a new album I just change the "add pictures" from "nobody" to "everybody to get it to work. I wanted to set a specific user (logged in) to be able to add or all logged in users, but it no work.
Sorry for this, but presently my pesky site www.dotchy.com is down (and up and down) and I also have a db lock out problem - so I can't re-try stuff and let you know. |

Hello,
i am Jens from the Gallery devteam.
It seems i didnt understand the problem right. (Maybe cause i am german)
This is what i _think_ i understand:
Gallery 1.4.3-pl2 embedded in phpNuke 7.2
You want that only logged in user can upload images.
But this doesnt work.
Regards,
Jens |

Hi Jens - yes you have it correctly. I should just upload the new Vs. but wanted to know if there was a fix for 1.4.3.....
Unfortunately, my site is down so I can't try stuff yet - apologies for this!
PS I found that German's understand most things - especially football!!! |

Site up now.
I know it's an unrelated problem (and new yesterday) but the db lock out message is:
Warning: fopen(/home/dotchyc/public_html/albums/Ivan-aftermath-in-Cayman/photos.dat.lock): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/dotchyc/public_html/modules/gallery/platform/fs_unix.php on line 55
Error: Could not open lock file (/home/dotchyc/public_html/albums/Ivan-aftermath-in-Cayman/photos.dat.lock)! |

Dari, Jens, thanks for your time and help. I will update to the 1.4.4 pl2 gallery to see if the reg. user logged in problem is fixed.
Thanks for the tip on the CHMOD and .htaccess, Dari, it appears that my hosts are playing with something and it's up to me to sort that out!
I know it is very hard to offer support when you don't know what a user is doing and has done - so well done to you all for providing help and assistance! |
