| I am now using PHP-NUKE 7.2 & went to upload a cvs build today ... no good .. so I went back to sourceforge & got 1.4.2 ... now I get ... Code: › Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/babyweb/public_html/demo/modules/gallery/util.php on line 2174 I have installed gallery many times before without problems ... is this a problem with nuke? what does util.php do anyway?
Cheers!

Looks OK to me (as a visitor) - is it different as registered/admin?

Hmn - I have tried UPLOADING from standalone mode with no joy - so I'm guessing it's a GALLERY issue - not NUKE.
Have you checked PERMISSIONS (chmod/chown) on your ALBUMS directory?
I would be tempted to INSTALL a fresh copy of GALLERY (1.4.2) and a NEW albums directory to test.
Also I have deleted your user/pass from above - too many naughty people around! _________________ "The only difference between me and a madman is that I'm not mad." |

...deleted the albums directory & added a new one chmod 777 ...

Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/babyweb/public_html/demo/modules/gallery/util.php on line 2174
gallery is fresh install ... maybe I'll try another download from a different mirror
log in deatails ok by me to leave as this is a demo install only _________________ Put your baby's photos on the web .... babyweb!

Would gallery be grabbing the 7.2 mainfile.php instead of the 6.9 mainfile.php? _________________ Put your baby's photos on the web .... babyweb!

Not a problem, unless you don't want some sod deleting everything

How? There can only be one mainfile.php in the root of the install. _________________ "The only difference between me and a madman is that I'm not mad." |

G'day Mate!
I am going to leave a user name & pass for people to access.
I'm trying to figure out a cron job to update the database every hour so it's a blank canvas for people to try a nuke site
At the moment I'm uploading 7.2 again & going to try again , I might have stuffed something up ... won't be satisfied till I do it again! again! _________________ Put your baby's photos on the web .... babyweb!

ok here's the latest ...
went to php-nuke website ... downloaded 7.2
went to http://jpmullan.com/galleryupdates/ ... got ... Gallery v1.4.3-cvs-b149
Installed all by ftp
ran config wizard
went to http://babywebmaster.com/modules.php?name=gallery
I created an album ... then tried to add a .gif
This is what I got:
Processing status...
Code: › - Adding WebHost-V1.gif
Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/babyweb/public_html/modules/gallery/util.php on line 2558
The first time I logged in in standalone mode I could get in .. now if Itry to login in standalone it doesn't give any errors but i'm not logged in.
This was exactly what was happening before
My conclusion PHP-NUKE 7.2 has just wasted a lot of my time ... I have this working with 7.1 .. why not 7.2? _________________ Put your baby's photos on the web .... babyweb!

Cause something has changed in 7.2. It's one of the problems that happens when you try integrating two completely different projects.
This is probably an issue with the latest NUKE (7.2) that the GALLERY DEVs haven't been able to investigate because it's only just been released.
I'm sure that PB does not consider GALLERY while he (and others) are developing NUKE - so (thankfully) Bharat (and others) do a great job of 'bending' their code to work with NUKE (and because they know that GALLERY is used a lot with NUKE).
Answer is: don't keep trying to have the most UP-TO-DATE versions of each - try to have the most COMPATIBLE versions! _________________ "The only difference between me and a madman is that I'm not mad." |

mmm, the most compatible versions eh ...
For me that would mean PHP-Nuke 6.9 & Gallery 1.4.2 .. would you agree that is the most stable set-up?
I notice this site uses PHP-Nuke 6.8.
By the Way, at the moment www.babyweb.com.au is working nicely with PHP-Nuke 7.1 & Gallery v1.4.3-cvs-b51
I just wanted to do an exercise ... I have been reading a lot in the nuke community about problems with 7.2 ... alleged rip offs from other authors , not being ready etc ... There will be a lot of disapointed people who "upgrade" to 7.2 & find their gallery is all screwed up soon ... Think there should be a general alert ... tell the world! _________________ Put your baby's photos on the web .... babyweb!

I am running an array of NUKE sites from 6.8 to 7.1 ALL wilth gallery working fine (1.4.1 - 1.4.3 cvs) - it does appear that 7.2 has an issue.
Best option to to wait until a new release has been out for a while cause all the bugs will/should be ironed out.
The biggest problem I have is that I always seem to modify the core files to suit the client - which is a real pain in the ass when it comes to upgrading (Dari has the same problem I guess) - so it's normally a case of upgrading only if it's really necessary or theres a new facility that you want to include. Of course security is the main issue. _________________ "The only difference between me and a madman is that I'm not mad." |

I like to experiment with the latest ... keeps me out of trouble!
What I want though is the most UP-TO-DATE stable config of both that I can put in a skeleton directory of my cpanel for clients to have a relatively new set up.
I still keep coming back to 6.9 + 1.4.2 ... I think I'll stick with that as a default & install other versions by special request only.
Any way time to uninstall 7.2 & have another go with 7.1 ... oh ...it's 4.30 am ... better have a kip! _________________ Put your baby's photos on the web .... babyweb!
