call to undefined function update_session_var()

I had to install RH9 (an upgrade from RH7.3) after a system disk failure, I have both PHP-Nuke and Gallery 1.4.2 back up and running. The problem is when I re-enable the random photo block which was working before the OS upgrade.

I should point out the gallery and phpnuke directories have not changed. The main change is to apache and php.

I am now running php 4.2.2-17.2 and apache 2.0.40-21.9

As soon as I enable the random block, I don't get any response back from the web server.

If I run my index.php file through php by hand I get the following.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: update_session_var() in /home/httpd/pdxbrit.com/html/gallery/session.php on line 114<br />

Can anyone help?

First, update your PHP version to 4.3.6.
Second, PHP and Apache2 do NOT play well together. I recommend going with 1.3.29.

This may very well solve your problem.
