Looks like the SPAM bots are hitting your board also
I had to turn off auto registration on my phpBB3 board to keep them out |

I deleted all the spam from the phpbb forums here.
If you want to use auto-registration, a fairly easy thing to do is add a question to the registration screen. It can be anything that makes the process different from the stock phpbb install that will throw off bot registration scripts. I've been using phpbb3 set to auto-registration since it was released and have not had a single bot registration with this method. You can even randomize the questions and answers. |

There has been a lot of talk about it on phpbb.com
http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=1437125 [phpbb.com]
Looks like spam bots have figured a way to bypass most deterrents.
They posted a few solutions but none are perfect.
Curious that they found one of my boards and not the other. |

| the odd thing is, they're getting through the registration process here. it's not an auto-registration. if they leave a bogus email, they never get the link to activate their account. i'll have to take a look and see what else can be done. to bad i can't whip together a quick recaptcha plugin to use... |

| i've integrated reCAPTCHA into the registration process for the site, and it looks like it's stopped the swarm of spam. most new posts are from existing spambots that are being deleted as well as having their accounts deleted... |

Looks like a pre-existing account has put 2 spams in after your post in this section.
It may take a while to weed out all the bogus accounts, at least it should stop new ones from getting in.
There should be some international agreement to demand ISP hosts to shut down spammers and make the internet a less cluttered place. |
