I use to run my site on my own XP server and moved to a Unix system and updated the Gallery in order to migrate to Gallery2. When I ran Validate albums in the admin menu it turned up over 200 missing picture files with the option to delete them. Before you select delete, I highly suggest doing this first. Using your FTP, or Cpanel if available go into the Albums directory where the missing files are suppose to be missing from. You might be suprised to actually see they are in fact there but being picked up as missing. This is because Unix is case sensative so if one letter is different, its going to show up as missing. Heres an Example:
File Album01/Image0005.jpg Missing Delete or add manually.
But inside Album01/image0005.jpg is there. Just change i to I in this instance, rerun Validate albums and you'll notice the error for that file is gone. I being short of temper used FTP Voyager, and clicked each file changing the name to match the missing files listed in Validate albums. Hope this helps anyone planning to migrate =) |
