Well, the hard drive is now deceased in one of my test machines. This is going to set me back a day or two while I get this machine rebuilt and all the software re-installed to get it back to where I can use it for development again. I hate it when that happens! Evil or Very Mad

Anyways, I think I have tested out all the g2helper functions now and they are all working. In the process found a spot in the phpbb code where an integration hook was missing for removing g2 admin permissions. The phpbb3 admin/user/group/moderator permissions scheme is somewhat complex, but I think I've found all the spots in the code that affect g2.

Also got the 'Can be administrator in Gallery 2' permissions working again in phpbb3. This means you can give certain phpbb admins permissions in g2, but not every phpbb admin gets to be a g2 admin by default. It's just a nice aspect of the new phpbb3 permissions system.

If anyone knows of any cases where you change a user in phpbb and the change does not carry over to g2, let me know. Or any other issues for that matter. I think I'm getting close to a release version soon. Mostly just need to get the documentation sorted out. (I'm not much of a documentation writer Confused )

Remaining issues:
1. g2image -
    a. Image count per page is broken. Been this way since I hacked it for phpbb2. (First page shows 10 images, click more and you get 20, then 30, etc. Should be 10 per page, period.)
    b. Doesn't respect the phpbb image size setting. This one is bit nasty. Not sure what to do about it at the moment. (Next release version may just come out with this as a known issue.)(If I get into adding code to g2image, I may just scrap using it and write new code using the existing g2helper function that returns a users item thumbnails and url links. This is basically what g2image does, but much simpler and would be easier for me to maintain.)

2. Documentation -
3. Probably others that escape me at the moment, but I think that is about it

i'd suggest using the latest and greatest version of g2image...many improvements have been made since the one originally included in the phpbb2 integration...

Yeah, I will have a look at that before I make a decision. I noticed the other day it is up to version 3.something. I was reluctant to dive into the new version because making the old one work with phpbb2 was quite a chore, but maybe it would be easier now that I've done before and maybe this new version is more adaptable.

Well now that I have my test machine working again I can work with g2image more. Got the latest version and it looks like we can use it without much modification this time, which is really nice. Also, since phpbb3 supports nested bbcode tags we can use all the capabilities of it, which is also really nice. We can now have thumbnails with links to the full size image, for example.
