I recently decided to enable the Zip Cart feature in my Gallery2 setup and everything seemed to work okay... but after I download the G2cart.zip file it creates, I get an invalid zip file that I can't open with anything (ex. winrar, winzip, etc.) I even tried downloading a new ZIP binary and uploading it to my server, then reconfiguring the ZIP module to the new binary's directory, hit the "Test Settings" button and got the "The path you entered is valid" message in Green. Everything seems to be setup correctly, but my Zip files are not valid. Any known fixes for this?

I have this problem as well. While I don't know why it happens, I do know a work around.

IE WILL NOT WORK, don't know why- can't figure it out. No matter what I do in Internet Explorer it won't do anything correctly.

FIREFOX. In firefox, fill the cart with the items you want to download like you normally would. Click on "download cart as zip" button (or whatever it is called). Your website will load for a bit, then fire off the g2cart.zip file. DON'T TOUCH THE BROWSER while the file is downloading (that means, don't goto a different page, don't stop it, don't continue to browse the site, just leave it). The browser will load (as if it is trying to change pages and the server isn't responding), this I've found is normal.

Let the download complete, ONCE it stops, the browser will stop loading and then goto a page that says your gallery cart is empty (this is normal, and I think this is why the browser continues to try to load as the file downloads).

Check the download now, and see if it is good.

I wish I knew a fix, but I don't. Maybe Dari can chime in...

You could ALSO just go to gallery2 in standalone mode (www.yoursite.com/modules/gallery2/main.php) and use the cart normal... but I realize that would make the integration pointless.

No, I find it functions the same way even in standalone.

Weird. While firefox acts the same in standalone and in phpnuke. IE7 does not. In Standalone IE7 will download the file as it should. But acts as described above when in phpnuke.

Not sure if I should file a bug now that I saw IE7 work fine in standalone. Although, clearly Firefox has issues.

Just an update to this. After I'm done posting here, I'm going to post on the forums at the gallery site. But as I mentioned in my other posts, I've switched to wordpress, and while switching over I also upgraded to the lastest possible version (used the nightly build) of gallery2. And this cart issue is still the same. Works in IE, but not in FF.

Dari, can you do me a favour and hit up my website (http://www.robertsspace.com) and goto my gallery (links at the top) and then choose an album and add it to the cart and see if you can download it in FF when you get a chance. You don't have to register or anything. Maybe it is an extension I have or something. I realize I'm not using phpnuke anymore, but I just want to see if it'll work on someones machine where I know they have had it work in FF before.

StarScream159 - works for me on your site. i added an album to the cart, and from the cart page, selected "download as zip" and clicked "go". when it was done, i was able to open it in winzip just fine.

did you make your post on the gallery forums? if not, i suggest filing a p8 / p9 bug ASAP, and posting in their forums so that this can be looked at and fixed prior to RC-2.

also, try putting your gallery installation into debug buffered mode (in g2's config.php file) and see if any errors pop up.
