I understand that this site does not provide supprt per se for postnuke issues. When it comes to integrating gallery in postnuke, I have found precious few sites that do. Initially, I tried a standalone installation of gallery but because of known Red Hat 9 issues I failed miserably (not for lack of effort mind you). Success was found installing gallery as a module following the instructions [nukedgallery.net] provided on this site. I was able to get gallery working fine on its own and access it through its own url (www.mysite.ca/modules/gallery in my case) but getting to it through postnuke was another story altogether...
I will begin by assuming that you have got this far. Gallery is installed properly and you can access it directly through an appropriate url.
1a. Activate gallery as a module by going to Administration -> Modules. Click regenerate and look for the entry for gallery. If it's not there, then you might not have installed it in the proper place. Check the your installation directory and reinstall if necessary. If you can see gallery, then click Initialise. Now click Activate.
1b. For some people, this will be all that's required to get a link to Gallery in the main menu. On some forums, people have said that if the link does not automatically appear you can Remove, Initialise and Activate the module again (as per 1a above) to remedy the problem. In my case, this didn't work. The only recommendation I could find was to delete gallery entirely and start over from scratch. In my case this was unacceptable since I had already spent a great deal of time adding pictures and configuring Gallery the way I like it. If you find yourself in the same position, go on to step 2.
2. Add a link to Gallery manually to the main menu. Go to Adminsitration -> Blocks and find the entry for main menu. Click edit. You'll want to add an entry like this:
Gallery [gallery] Description of your gallery
The first entry is the link that will appear in the main menu. The second is the path to your gallery directory. By default, if you followed the instructions on this site, it should just be [gallery]. Modify as needed but remember it's case sensitive. The last entry can be whatever you want to briefly describe your gallery. When you've got all that, click Commit Changes.
3. A link to Gallery should now be available on your main menu. If you click it, the Gallery should be opened and take over the centre frame. For privacy reasons, you might want to change the permissions on your albums through postnuke in order to take advantage of the existing user structure. This way, registered users of your site can view the albums without having to register for a new Gallery account.
I hoped this helped. I'm fairly inexperienced with this stuff and found it really frustrating that no one could provide simple answers to common problems. If I got something wrong or could add something extra, I would love to hear from you. |

Thanks for the guide
I hope to make PostNuke support officially available soon, for at least Gallery installation issues, and as needed as my blocks are ported to PostNuke. _________________

| I just did a Gallery istallation as per Gallery and your instructions, and Gallery does not appear to be integrated at all, I have posted a request from Gallery themselves to giveme further assistance. Once I get it, I will let you know about the solution. You need to have answers HERE (that way your service will be worth something). |

if you searched the forums, you will see that this site is for PHPNuke integration, NOT postnuke, though a search for "postnuke" will reveal the instructions you desire. that will be left as an exercise for the reader. _________________

Post Nuke? No, is not. It is PHP-NUKE. Here http://delsur.homeya.com
Did not mean to offend you , sorry. I checked the config.php and is't there supposed to be a coulpes of lines like
Quote: › $gallery->app->default["gallery_embedded_inside"] = "PHP-NUKE";
$gallery->app->default["PHP-NUKE_dir"] = "/path/to/PHP-NUKE/public_html";
Thanks anyway. I let you know. |

Newbie Guide: Postnuke + gallery integration

hoops , need the help anyway...
UPDATE: I did find the solution in your Forum. I was that string you published :
Quote: › $db->sql_query("insert into ".$prefix."_modules values (NULL, '$modlist[$i]', '$modlist[$i]', '0', '0', '1', '0')", $dbi);
I am sorry, I feel bad, you are great, and I sincerely wish you the best. Thank you and again, my mistake was not to read the posts beforehand.
Thank you. |

| Excellent tutorial fredr12. I too have had many problems getting Gallery to work with postnuke. Your tutorial, when followed to the letter, is very helpful and dead on. Great Job! |

Hey I am having problems running the Config wizard. I have done everything listed ran the configure.bat. When I go to the setup/index.php to run the setup I get a error code 500. The gallery is recognized in the modules section on my admin area but when I go to adminsiter it it is not there so I have a feeling the install did not go right.
Tried to run http://sunwolfsden.com/modules/gallery/setup/index.php to no avail all I get is a error code. I also cannot display the gallery index.php anymore
Please help

I was unable to get the gallery to work properly doing the above, but it did show up with out the theme. I used a script to wrap gallery in nuke. It seems to work just fine.
It is called nukewrapper. The script is here.

I installed and used Gallery prior to installing PostNuke. I have now moved gallery over as a postnuke module (thanks for this site!), but I need toreconcile the users. Right now, no 'nuke user can upload photos or administer the gallery. How can I reconcile the two? (running on RHL 9)
Thanks!

Ya I just had that on RedHat 9 / Apache 2. Just go in and delete the .htaccess files in gallery/ and gallery/setup . I assume they were misconfigured (guess). |
