Gallery link addon mod

Started playing around with the gallery link addon mod for olympus. Here's a screenshot of the viewtopic page-

Yeah, I've noticed that also. Not sure why it's leaving that out because I haven't changed the breadcrumb template at all. Maybe something to do with olympus css?

Made more progress on the link mods. Here's a shot of the memberlist-

Thinking about combining the gallery link mods into one big addon package with a panel in the acp to configure which features are enabled and control settings like how many items get displayed and whether they are photos or albums, etc, etc. Will have to see how complicated it gets and how much time I want to put into it!

phpbb.com is saying that beta1 is close...when it's released, i'm gonng install it, and try to port over the image chooser hack for g2 into olympus (oh, and phpbb2 as well) Smile

Dari, is the image chooser you're talking about the one at http://demo.steffensenfamily.com [steffensenfamily.com]? How would you use that with olympus or phpbb? It only seems to return a thumbnail and links to the original image thru the php scripts. The mapAllGalleryLinks function already returns the thumbnails and php links to the images with a lot less hassle than the image chooser. These links can't be used in the bbcode img tag though because they contain php scripts in the url. What I picture for an 'image chooser' like this is for a user to choose an image that belongs to them from the thumbnails and be able to directly link the image right into a board post without linking thru the scripts to get it. ie, a real file path that can be included in the bbcode img tag. If gallery has this capability, I haven't been able to find it in the docs or in the core classes.

yep, that's the one that i'm hacking the heck out of (well i will get back to it once the rest of my trunk g2 code is done).
the only way to really do what you're talknig about is to get the url rewrite working ....

WRT the gallery link mods, they are all done now. I decided to combine them with the base integration for numerous reasons including the need for more db fields to control the settings and it makes life easier to have only one mod to maintain instead of an integration mod and several add-on mods. New settings have been built in that allow one to control the behaviour of these mods.

The gallery link mod (originally by PilotSpike) shows a link to the users gallery in the memberlist, users profile and in each post by that user. This can be enabled or disabled in the ACP.

The show all gallery links mod shows thumbnails with links to the original image in the users profile. This can also be enabled or disabled in the ACP. You can now set it to show photos or only albums and you can limit the number of items returned.

It's all looking rather nice! Very Happy

I may convert the mod over to the new phpbb modx format when I have time.

Only thing really missing for me at this point is an image chooser type mod that returns file path links instead of gallery item links. The g2image chooser has a nice interface, if only it returned file paths. Sad

I may take another whack at the gallery code. There's got to be a way to get the actual file path out of it whether or not the url rewrite module is activated, after all gallery has to be able to find the file to display it!

I think we can do away with the modded gallery breadcrumb template because olympus shows a link back to the forums even when rendering the embedded gallery...there may still be a css problem though because the olympus breadcrumb is using the same >> symbol as gallery as you can see in the first image at the beginning of this thread.
