ok, so I was able to get Gallery 1.42 RC2 installed with some help form slackbladder (thanks dude... you rock by the way!!!)... or so I thought, untill I tried to log into it from my website. Now I get a page with an error that reads:
Gallery needs Reconfiguration
Your Gallery configuration was created using the config wizard from an older version of Gallery. It is out of date. Please re-run the configuration wizard!
I had uploaded an older version of Gallery, but deleted it and uploaded the 1.42 RC2 version on the advice of Slackbladder. After I got this message the 1st time I just figured that I had missed something when I deleated the older version, so I deleated it all again. I deleated the entire Gallery folder, as well as both custom files, the netbpm directory, and the albums diretcory. I then re-downloaded everything, making sure that they were all the newest or recomended versions... same problem. What is causing this? Slack bladder did have me delete the .htaccess file from the setup folder. the netpbm version is 1.1

Give us your Gallery/webserver information to get a faster answer.
Get this information from the PHP diagnostic (in the configuration wizard).
Gallery URL (optional but very useful):
Gallery version:
Apache version:
PHP version (don't just say PHP 4, please):
Graphics Toolkit:
Operating system:
Web browser/version (if applicable):

Are you sure that all the OLD GALLERY install has been deleted? Try install into different directory (e.g. pix or something not gallery). Also remove .htaccess from new install (/setup/). Make sure PERMISSIONS are correct

OK, so I have deleated everything AGAIN! all folders and files. I am in the process of uploading a new batch, but I have renamed the file from gallery, to pix. We shall see in a few more minutes if it works.

I saw it worked under the name gallery - a few minutes ago. I was in you config script and it was working fine (/gallery/setup/index.php). But then it stopped I guess you moved/deleted something! |

Well. I did everything. Reloaded it as pix, deleted the htaccess file set and then reset the permissions, and I am still getting the same damn error:

How far are you getting through the config? Do you see the config page where you can input your GALLERY name and password, etc? After going through 3-4 pages you are finished and you have to rset permissions to the SETUP directory - have you got that far? You get somewhere cause I've seen teh config pages.

I would try deleting the .htaccess from the GALLERY folder after you have set-up the config.

So, run back through the config process again, and then delete the .htacces file after resetting the permission, but before trying to access the gallery?

1 question... netpbm. Should I have uploaded the linux version since my host is running unix with ftp access? and would that cause any of these issues?
