I have an issue where when a new user creates an account on the forum the default group for the user will be as an admin.. which means then they are able to edit site settings, etc. Is there a specific setting that might need to be turned off, or a bug of some sort with this?

I would say you have phpbb permissions setup wrong. The integration has nothing to do with default groups for new phpbb users...

I'm not talking about the group for phpbb.. this is the group in gallery that new phpbb users are being exported to.

Then maybe you have the 'Can be administrator in Gallery 2' permission setting turned on for phpbb registered users?

acp->users and groups->groups permissions->registered users->admin permissions->advanced permissions->settings

I had actually looked at that setting before. I had it set to 'No'. I just changed to 'Never'... perhaps that will help. I guess I'll have to wait and see.
