Hi,

Great work!!

Have you thought about creating a new block that will display the last 5 albums added like your 'Updated block' but showing the albums highlighted image?

A bit like the last 5 links, last 5 downloads, etc - not based on a single image changing in an album but a whole new album added?

Is that easy/possible - kinda like the albums.php file but just the highlighted thumbnail images.

Just a thought

i've seen skeleton code for this around on the web, but not stuff that shows the highlighted image. i can give it a go and see what I come up with, though it might be awhile, as I'm about to move in a little less than 2 weeks, and my evening are going to be taken over by packing.

hmm..it might be cool to have a revised/updated logo up there. what did you have in mind? (i've also been toying with new themes, but a lot of those out there are pretty flashy, lots of images to border the blocks, etc...i just want a simple, cut and dry kinda thing).

I always find it helps if you focus on a particular angle. Is the site about Yankees in the south or is it dedicated to intergrating Gallery in to nuke? (Don't try to make a mix of both Gallery and Nuke styles - it just won't work!! - although there are some who try it!)

Find a colour you really like (or feel is approprate) and utilise it fully (a site can be colourful without being too flashy or having to much bandwidth lost to large images)

Create an uncomplicated logo, 2-3 colours, using max. 2 fonts.

Try to build/find an icon that represents your site or content (the compass on your logo currently does that!).

The biggest problem in any design is that 'we all have different ideas of style' - so go with what you like and sod anyone else who doesn't appreciate it!

If you have firm ideas of what you want to achieve - I am willing to work with you to, as and when possible! Just let me know.

well, this site was originally started as a site just to have the digital photo albums available for our families up in New Jersey/Pennsylvania. But, as I fooled around with things, I found out that creating the blocks wasn't so hard, and that there were blocks that I wanted that weren't currently available. Once I made them, I posted them for the rest of the PHPNuke community, so it kind of evolved into a Nuke site. I've actually been toying with the idea of making one site just for the blocks, and a second site that would resume the "family-centric" role that I had originally envisioned.

hmm..so i've been thinking about new domain names and came up with a couple of good ones, though i'm not sure whether or not i should make the domain name gallery/nuke centric, or if i should keep it more nuke modules/blocks centric....hmm...any thoughts?

Hi,

There seems to be a complete lack of dedicated NUKE GALLERY mod sites - so I guess its a kind of niche!

I would say it needs NUKE and GALLERY in the name Wink

Maybe nukedgallery.com or mynukegallery.com or just nukegallery.com - the variations are endless! Smile

Maybe speak with Bharat - see if there is some kind of permenant connection between the sites? A lot of people use nuke and gallery together - would be good to have his endorsement!

The support on both the gallery/phpnuke sites for nuke/gallery/random/etc is lacking - both communities need a good site to help with problems.
