If you're running NSNNuke, please grab the latest CVS version of Gallery from SourceForge and test it out for NSNNuke compliance.

If you don't know how to use CVS, just grab this file:
http://jpmullan.com/galleryupdates/dail ... ery.tar.gz

Select NSNNuke from the Embedded Environment drop down list on page two of the setup. Post results here.

Hi Dari, I tried your package of the CVS and the current.galllery.... from today know on to different server I have access to.
But showing the same behaovior we discussed before.
Could this be a configuration issue, because both gallery configurations are similar?

Beside, one of the server is running RedHat while the other one is running Debian...

Just as an update for you. Had not much time to test and write before.

Ok I've installed Gallery from CVS on my Test bead maybe production NSN-NUKE 7.1b it works.

At least I’ve managed to get it to work in a way .. Still I’m not happy that the galley theme overwrite php-nuke ones so it looks kind of bad I will make a few more test on it maybe simlink the nuke main css/images files to the gallery $testskin.

I dono … opened to any suggestions.

Still when uploading/ or doing any modification the pop-up does display the options needed but opens the hole site again below the gallery options.

check it out @ http://mixed.forbidden-paradise.net

Sorry to say this maday, but this thread is about NSN-Nuke and gallery. Not about the NSN version from PHP-Nuke 7.1 and gallery .... it's a different CMS Smile

If you like to know what I am talking about, just visit:
http://www.nsnnuke.org

BTW, wich gallery CMS option did you choose NSN-Nuke?

Thanks for the reply SpecialEd, but you are also running PHP-Nuke not NSN-Nuke.
Besides, I already wondered if this is only a NSN-Nuke specific problem or not.

If you like to know more about NSN-Nuke visit:

hi dari, finally I mentioned to get my test system at home also running.
It's based on Fedor 1.9 running Apache 2.0x and PHP 4.3.4.x.
Also installation of NSN-Nuke and Gallery shows the excact same behavior than the to other system I installed. Crying or Very sad

Could you maybe send me your php.ini and gallery config file.
Maybe I find the answer of these problems by comparing these file with the one of my systems.

Thanks,
Theo

Okay, I installed PHP-Nuke 7.0 and the same Gallery version on my test system to eliminate any problems coming from the config of Apache, PHP etc. and its working nicely.

Does anyone besides Dari and me have tried the installation and can give some feedback???

I'm using NSN-Nuke 1.0.0. Installation and configuration went without a hitch (other than the already documented NetPBM issue). A menu link was created when I activated the module as per expectation. Clicking on the menu link however, causes gallery to be displayed outside of nuke. I tried switching to PHP-Nuke (Embed option in config), same result.

Okay, same thing happened on my three test systems running under Debian, RedHat 8.0 and Fedora 2 Core 1.

Any other experience with NSN-Nuke and Gallery?

UPDATE: 03/31/2004
I managed to partially fix it, but not knowing that much about PHP, I have no clue what the issue is! Sad

Configuration is the same as listed below, I'm using current.gallery= v1.4.4-cvs-b5.

Grab a copy of 1.4.2, and replace the default header and footer in html_wrap from that version. That's the partial part. Stays in NSN-NUKE now but there is (still? go me, so I dunno Wink..I made the mistake of creating a user and admin with same username, so didnt' notice. duh..Tomorrow when I get a sec, I'll restore the previous files (from 1.4.4) and create another user for basis of comparision) an issue with permissions. I can change permissions with regards to built in (NOBODY/LOGGEDIN/EVERYBODY), but a script error has appeared now as a result of overwriting those files, so gallery is not getting the user info by the looks of it:

"Warning: mysql_fetch_row(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /xxxxx/xxxxx/xxxxx/xxxxx/modules/gallery/classes/database/mysql/Database.php on line 37"

And no users are appearing. (I added the xx's for this post, but path is correct)

Anyway, I gotta crash, but I'll hava look again tomorrow.
-----------------------------------------
UPDATE: 04/01/2004

Hokee, I'm now "embedded" with the addition of the line:
case 'nsnnuke':
in the wrapper.header.default file. This is now the one that's included in v1.4.4-cvs-b7 which is what I'm testing with now. There is a still a permission problem with the "permissions" link. The main gallery interface recognizes the logged in user, but the permissions popup is still experiencing the issue as outlined in the other update above. This is now a brand new, fresh install of NSN-Nuke 1.0.0 and Gallery v1.4.4-cvs-b7

Permissions error continues on the following configuration:

Gallery version: 1.4.3 RC1 & current.gallery.tar.gz
Apache version: 1.3.24
PHP version: 4.2.1
Graphics Toolkit: NetPBM
Operating system: OpenBSD 3.1

Installed on NSNgold last night and had the same "embedded" problem as tritting.
Added the 'case nsnuke': to wrapper.header.default and now it is embedded. BUT, the NSNnuke footer is missing on the gallery page. Any ideas?

Thanks

K, I have installed OSM (the newnamed NSN), and the latest gallery. It seems the latest release has the support for NSN Nuke?
http://minspiration.com/modules.php?name=gallery

I get the following error....
Code: ›
Warning: mysql_fetch_row(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/minspir/public_html/modules/gallery/classes/database/mysql/Database.php on line 37

I thought the mysql_fetch_row was not going to be used with OSM etc? I will look at the code later, but wanted to share my first run at it.[/code]

i haven't looked at CPG Nuke, though i don't know why it would operate differently from PHPNuke, as it uses it as it's core...

as for OSM/NSNNuke, the DB structure might have been changed. i'll have to take a look at it.

I would like to see if I can get the Menalto Gallery working in CPG-Nuke.

Right now I have both applications working properly, however when I call gallery via the index.html?name=gallery link it opens the application as if it was standalone vs. being wrapped in CPG-Nuke. (Not new window, just not "integrated".)

The Menalto Gallery has a configuration option to tell it if it is being embedded into PhpNuke, PostNuke, and other apps (no CPG-Nuke option yet). It doesn't seem to matter whether it is set to phpNuke or standalone, as either way it does not include the CPG-Nuke wrap.

I did search both the Menalto forums and the CPG-Nuke forums to no avail. My search here led me to this post, thus my reply.

Any suggestions on a path to start to figure out why it does that? I don't mind digging, I just really have no clue where to start.

Thanks!
Kristin

yes, this is something that you'd need to tweak in index<dot>php from gallery:
PHP: › <?php $op = isset($_REQUEST['op']) ? $_REQUEST['op'] : null;
$mop = isset($_REQUEST['mop']) ? $_REQUEST['mop'] : null;
$name = isset($_REQUEST['name']) ? $_REQUEST['name'] : null;
$include = isset($_REQUEST['include']) ? $_REQUEST['include'] : null;

/* Detect PHP-Nuke, Postnuke, phpBB2 or Mambo and react accordingly.
 * Gallery can run embedded in GeekLog too, but to catch this we need
 * config.php * Therefore we have to detect GeeLog in init.php.
 */
if (!strcmp($op"modload") || !strcmp($mop"modload") || isset($option) || isset($name)) { ?>

you'd have to add a comparison operator in that "if" clause, as well as a case for cpgnuke in the switch statement.

Well, i did that and got the follwing error:
Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/ACCOUNT/public_html/XXXXX/modules/gallery/init.php on line 493;
this line is:
Code: › $gallery->user = $gallery->userDB->getEverybody();

Now i am lost ( pls don not think i knew what i was doing before)

BTW scrolling block works beautifully on CPG nuke , right 'out of the box' Wink
Thanks!

shizzle...i forgot..the userDB portions also have to be upgraded...
look in gallery/classes/nsnnuke/ for the files. make sure that the database tables, etc are correct.
also, you might want to change the case statement that you added to read 'nsnnuke' instead of 'cpgnuke'...that way you don't have to tweak a lot of additional code.

Here is what I did to make Gallery v1.4.4 run in CPG-Nuke v8.2b:

Open Gallery's index.html (in modules/gallery folder)

FIND
Code: › if (!strcmp($op, "modload") || !strcmp($mop, "modload") || isset($option)) {

REPLACE
Code: › if (!strcmp($op, "modload") || !strcmp($mop, "modload") || isset($option) || isset($name)) {

Open adminbox.inc

FIND
Code: ›     <td class="admin" align="left" valign="middle" width="4000" height="18">&nbsp;<?php echo $adminbox["text"] ?></td>
    <td class="admin" align="right" valign="middle" width="3000" height="18">&nbsp;<?php echo $adminbox["commands"] ?>&nbsp;</td>

REPLACE WITH:
Code: ›     <td class="admin" align="left" valign="middle" width="50%" height="18">&nbsp;<?php echo $adminbox["text"] ?></td>
    <td class="admin" align="right" valign="middle" width="50%" height="18">&nbsp;<?php echo $adminbox["commands"] ?>&nbsp;</td>

Notice the change was only to the width of both cells, otherwise Gallery will push the entire site too wide.

After making the changes above, I tried setting Gallery in phpNuke, nsnNuke, and Standalone mode. All modes work in the CPG-Nuke wrap.

I have NOT done extensive testing (member uploading, other userid's, permissions), however I have been logged in with a CPG-Nuke admin account and was able to create folders, upload pictures, add comments.

The only problem I notice right offhand is that I have an echo " \n"; at the top of my index.html?name=gallery page. As soon as I find what is writing that, I'll post here.

If anyone wants to see Gallery working in CPG-Nuke, here is what it looks like on my site [induni.com].

By the way... sorry to hijack this thread! Feel free to split it Dari and again, thanks for the help.

Kris

UPDATE:

To remove the echo " \n"; that is printed at the top of Gallery pages within CPG-Nuke:

Open wrapper.header.default in the modules/gallery/html_wrap folder.

FIND:
Code: ›                $header .= 'echo "' . $links . '\n";' . "\n";

and comment it out...
Code: › //               $header .= 'echo "' . $links . '\n";' . "\n";

OR... You can take out the code that writes echo " and "\; instead of commenting out the entire line. Either way works.

I can't get this work, I can only upload as Admin and only with the form.

I can't use the applet or XP publish. In fact I have two issues with XP publish, it does not work with my modules .htaccess off (fails on password) and with .htaccess on I get denied of course.

What do I need to do to get everything to work smoothly and allow users to upload?

I can't log into configuration either with, same issue with xp publish on password or denied depending on .htaccess.

Can you help, thanks.

Ok I was running RC and just changed it to 1.4.4
now I get
Parse error: parse error, unexpected '/' in /home/*****/public_html/modules/Media_Gallery/layout/adminbox.inc on line 32 which is

<td class="admin" align="left" valign="middle" width="50%" height="18">&nbsp;<?php echo $adminbox["text"] </td>

I even tried changing it back to the original and I get same error, doesn't seem to like </td>, any ideas?

For configuration and xp publish I can log in as gallery admin but not nuke admin.

Anyone have an idea of how to fix this so members can upload photos, create albums, and use XP publish?

Thanks for the help.

As I originally posted
Quote: › I have NOT done extensive testing (member uploading, other userid's, permissions), however I have been logged in with a CPG-Nuke admin account and was able to create folders, upload pictures, add comments.
So I apologize for the delay in response, however I needed some time to attempt to use these features, below are my findings:

Logged in as the God account to CPG-Nuke:
(Keep in mind this is using Gallery as a module from within CPG-Nuke)
  • Applet: "Upload Error. User cannot add to album."
  • Form: Works with no issues.
  • Url: Works with no issues.
Logged in as the Admin account to Gallery:
(Accessing Gallery directly NOT in CPG-Nuke (yoursite.com/modules/gallery)
  • Applet: Works with no issues.
  • Applet (big): Works with no issues.
  • Form: Works with no issues.
  • Url: Works with no issues.
As for XP Publish, I installed the registry update and was able to use it with no problems. I don't use .htaccess since I run my site on my W2k server; perhaps this is why XP publish worked for me? I was able to install XP publish on two of my PC's (one at home, one at work) and it worked on both. My userid / password for both the God account and the Gallery admin account is the same.

Lastly other people being able to publish, I have not had a lot of time to look into this one, however my CPG-Nuke users do not get any Admin permissions in CPG-Nuke even if they are allowed in Gallery. I'll look into that more tonight.

If I disable .htaccess my experience is pretty much the same as yours, I was just hoping someone out there could get this to work for users. That is the reason I'm considering the switch to Gallery. I don't care about admin use as coppermine supports admins just fine. I want something that is easier on my users. To be honest I've been thinking about moving from CPG-Nuke but I'm too concerned about security issues in the other *nukes.

In fact I'm getting so desperate to have ease of use and security I have considered just integrating phpbb and gallery or stand alone coppermine but enough off topic.
