OK, so here's the lowdown on blocks here at NG:
- All blocks are having permission checks integrated into them, so users will only see the random/most popular/etc photo and/or album if they have permission to do so. - Several updates to some of the scripts courtesy of slackbladder. - Porting of blocks over to PostNuke. - Development of new blocks/mods (postcard mod, etc). This is the order, more or less, in which the development will take place. Expect a fairly large announcement here in about a week once the updates to the existing blocks have been completed (the most popular photo block is already completed, including the use of a cache file for super huge galleries, and permission checking). In the meantime, if any of you have any suggestions for mods/blocks you would like to see (Gallery related only, please, for now, at least), reply in this thread. Thanks, Dari |

SUGGESTION:
<b>Random block with 1-10 voting</b> Photo is shown, visitor has the facility to cast vote, votes are added up. If no votes are present - 'VOTE NOW' appears! Block needs to be standalone and not affect GALLERY core files. (as in random_support.php) Also FAQs on NukedGallery.net to answer all those questions that come up over and over again |

btw, the primary purpose of the support file was to allow people to have multiple instances of the block (hourly, daily, random, etc) and not have to worry about redeclaring functions. if/when this mod is written, i'll have to start coming up with creative function names to ensure that none are duplicates from any of my other blocks |

Well - I waited for the offers of help to come rolling in
Let me know how you want to go about it (admin.php access would be easiest - but that's for you to decide!!) |

Even though I can't get the random pic block to work on my site, I would like to see the random pic block eventually become a random scrolling pic block. In fact I would like to see several new blocks that are equal to and, in fact, better than those packaged with coppermine, since I like the basics of gallery better. cheers

hello,
i think that it would be a cool idea to make the new albums block load up random thumbs from their respective albums. so each time a viewer refreshes, a new and random thumb appears. |

Hi, I'd like to see the ability to have multiple random images in the random block. I know you can do more than 1 instance of the random block, but I want 1 random block with like 3 random images.

I wish for integration with this postcard:
http://www.belchiorfoundry.com/ vCardLite It is simple because it can take a image url and make it a postcard. See work in progress here: http://www.moljac.hr/modules.php?set_al ... _photo.php The link for eCard above the photo in Gallery is actually redirect of image to vCard url. It would be great if this could be integrated totally into nuke and gallery so user could be recognized, statistics taken, and blocks combined. As it seems the author himself has no intention of integrating it, so it is up to users or other developers. Hope you can make something similar or use this vCard and integrate it. |

I'd like to have a news-block which allows me to select an album. the highlighted pic from that album appears on top of the news-article in phpnuke.

I am looking for a postnuke block that will display the names of all the albums in the gallery and link to them. Nothing fancy, just a text link list of albums.

the latest CVS version has an RSS feature that you could tie into your postnuke install for such a list.

Block patch I am using to fix iframe problem with ablum name link as it was linking inside the iframe
block-NG-RandomPhoto_functions.php Code: › if($auto == 0) {
$FROM = "From: <a href=\"$ALBUM_URL\">" . $album->fields['title'] . '</a>'; } else { $FROM = "From: <a href=\"$ALBUM_URL\" target=\"_top\">" . $album->fields['title'] . '</a>'; } replaces the line Code: ›
$FROM = "From: <a href=\"$ALBUM_URL\">" . $album->fields['title'] . '</a>'; Might want to check to see if you need to correct this in any new version you are working on. Nice block btw. Mark |
