Topic Title: Gallery 2 integration help please?

Hi,

I installed G2 to my server and then I wanted to see if it would work with PHP nuke. But something went wrong. I filled out the gallery.cfg, and it saved then I tried to access it and got this error.

Failed to create G2 user with extId [admin]. Here is the error message from G2:
Error (ERROR_BAD_PARAMETER)
in modules/core/classes/GalleryEmbed.class at line 259 (gallerystatus::error)
in /home/fursuinf/public_html/modules/gallery2/index.php at line 212 (galleryembed::createuser)
in /home/fursuinf/public_html/modules.php at line 56

Does anyone know a way to get around this? Or is there something to download that I missed. (I have no idea how to use CVS... God knows I've tried... LOL!) I must be missing something, because I've seen a lot of people who got this thing working. I'd like to be able to too.

where did you download the integration pack from, from the link in the G2 integration forum at menalto.com?

Yes, I downloaded it from the link. I was looking at the CVS, but couldn't figure out how to download or where or how to make a zip from there. I'm pretty sure I have the paths right. Now, I have a different problem, though. It keeps redirecting to your account even if I'm already logged in. I had it hooked in once, but it wouldn't see me as anything other then guest and I couldn't see any of the albums.

are you logged into your phpnuke site at all when this error occurs, as admin or a user?

Yes, I'm logged in as the admin.

OMG!! Thank you!! You are a god! *bows* That did it, and it works great now. Now, I can log in and I had a couple others test it and they are logged in too!! You are a lifesaver!! Now, I have to figure out how to put all my past members albums up where everyone can see them. While I'm here... Is there any way to have the gallery mimic the theme of the site. Right now for some reason it's purple, and my site is black and white. LOL! (Looks really weird, but it works and that's all I really wanted.) Thank you!!

Gallery2 has an import feature to import all your Gallery1 albums automagically.

Re: this post [nukedgallery.net], once i imported my nuke database to gallery, i haven't had that problem any more...my index.php file in my gallery2 directory no longer has those modified lines. *shrug*

For some reason now I get this error and I'm not logged in. (Weird.) Can't wait until this isn't a beta anymore.

And the gallery doesn't show up. I really wonder what happened. I just logged in and then logged out, and logged back in and then got the previous error. Hmmm... It's really odd since I didn't mess with the code during that time.

did that new error show up after removing the code? if so, re-add the code...

Added the code back and I get this error back...

G2 did not return a success status. Here is the error message from G2:

And I'm listed as a guest again. Very odd... Any ideas? (I really appreciate the help.)

it looks like there should be a filename in there...did you delete it when posting, or is this how it is showing up?

I changed the name of the gallery in the admin when I logged in to G2. But other then that I only changed the lines of code from the post you sent.

Changed it back and it still gave the same error...

this is really unusual..there isn't any indication of what file this error is being thrown by?

Is there a line I could add that would show a debug status? I can't tell which file is throwing me this error. It hits modules.php and then hits the modules/gallery2/index.php the screen goes white with the error and then loads the rest of nuke with me logged in as a guest.

it's in gallery2/index.php, this line appears twice:


immediately before each of the occurances of that line, add an echo statement that will tell you which one you're at ( ie echo "first"; after the first one, and echo "second"; after the second one.)

So, I guess it's the first instance doing it.

in the gallery.cfg file, is activeUserId set to 0?

Yes, the user is set to 0. Should it be set to something else. (That's no problem.) I'm going to be heading to work. LOL! Just glad it's only a meeting.

Well, I almost got it. It's got something to do with my already having a gallery and importing it, then I logged in and it was fine, but when I tried to log in again that's when that error showed up. A friend of mine who doesn't have a gallery on the site logged in and was able to see all the galleries without any problems. So, now, I just need to know how to put a slice of code that doesn't check for a user gallery or something... Any ideas?

Thanks for all the help this far I really appreciate it, and now that the problem has been kinda isolated it'll probably make it a little easier to solve.

OK, so, let's go over what you've done thus far:
1. Installed G2
2. Configured G2 and integrated it.

At this point you could log in, correct?

3. Imported albums.

At this point you could still log in, correct?

4. Logged out, and tried to log in again, but couldn't....

Actually, finally got it running last month. Wanted to come back and thank you for all your help!!
