Topic Title: An advertizing forum.

I'd like to see a forum for those hosters like myself who offer PHPNuke installations as long as they include Gallery installs as well. This would leave out those people who run CPanel which installs just the basic, unsecure PHPNuke install.

Granted, if one would make such a post in any other forum, it would be considered spam. That's why I would like to see something set up specificly for this.

hmm...i'll have to think about this. it would require vigilant moderation so that spammers don't come rolling in posting banners and such to their sites.

and, from a purely selfish point of view, they'd be getting traffic, and potentially sales revenue, for free, while my bandwidth would be getting sucked up. so why not sign up as a sponsor [nukedgallery.net], or add an advertising banner to the site?

i'll give it some thought and try to lay down a set of rules and regs that will keep it under control.

Plus that's why I put in that bit about requiring the hoster to do an install with Gallery included. Haven't seen one outside of myself who does that.

And then you do the installs on other people's sites....

I still don't see anything about advertising banners. Now that I would do.

well, the sponsor link is new, and i haven't tweaked it quite the way i want it, though you will notice i do have one paying sponsor linked in the footer of the page

i took out the advertising module, though i might re-add a link to "advertise here"...

even with the "you must install gallery" caveat, i'm sure that spammers will see that as an open door to come in and flood the forum with ads for their p0rn sites and such (after all, what better way to display porn online than with Gallery? )

hell, if i were a proprietor of porn, i'd use nuke and gallery....it's an easy way to track and maintain users, and to collect payments for subscriptions...all for free. hmm, i should find me some ladies willing to take it off and start up "nakedgallery.net" haha..

Banners are easier for me to implement (payment-wise). An advert forum would be a little trickier, esp. when it comes to how much is a fair amount to charge, since the forum will be available to everyone, all the time (vs. in a banner rotation).
