NukedGallery FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

Category: Main -> C. Troubleshooting

Question
·  C.1. What are my server PATHS?
·  C.2. Where have my right blocks gone in Gallery 1.4?
·  C.3. Why can't my phpNuke users add albums to my Gallery?
·  C.4. Everything installed properly, but Gallery just doesn't seem to work!
·  C.5. I'm logged in as GOD in PHPNuke, but I don't have admin controls in Gallery

Answer
·  C.1. What are my server PATHS?

If you can't get the information from your host - create a blank file and fill it with the following code:

Then save this as 'phpinfo.php' and upload it in to your webspace. Call the file from the browser (e.g. yoursite.com/phpinfo.php) - this should then return all the path information you will need.

Please note: some hosts restrict access to this function, so your only answer would be a ask your hosts.

·  C.2. Where have my right blocks gone in Gallery 1.4?

With GALLERY 1.4 - if you want your right blocks to show while the GALLERY modules is loaded - simply amend the following to files:

/gallery/HTML_wrap/wrapper.header.default
/gallery/HTML_wrap/wrapper.footer.default

Simply change the $index = 0; to $index = 1; in both files.

·  C.3. Why can't my phpNuke users add albums to my Gallery?

Gallery was initially designed as a standalone application; integration into third party applications was made possible only after it became insanely popular. As such, some artifacts of this standalone application still exist, including the capability for phpNuke users to create new albums. The main album page (the one you see when you initially enter the album) has a restricted set of permissions in the phpNuke context, where only administrators can create new top-level albums.

There are two ways to work around this issue:
1. As an adminstrator, create a new top level album. Set the "create sub-album" permission for this album to "loggedin". This will now allow all registered phpNuke users to create a sub-album within this album. The heirarchy would be: Main Gallery -> Main User Album -> Individual User Sub-album. This may be sub-optimal for some site administrators, as there are too many levels to navigate through to get to the appropriate user album. This leaves you with option 2.
2. Use the Create new album upon user registration modification available at this site. This will automatically create a new top-level album for the user when they register.

·  C.4. Everything installed properly, but Gallery just doesn't seem to work!

If you have Sentinal installed (a PHPNuke security package), then this might be your problem. Read this forum post for a fix.

·  C.5. I'm logged in as GOD in PHPNuke, but I don't have admin controls in Gallery

You need to set the "disable register_globals check" in the Gallery config wizard to "yes".
