NukedGallery FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
Category: Main -> A. Installing Gallery
| Answer | | · A.1. Where can I download the latest version of Gallery? We normally link to the latest STABLE packaged release from GALLERY. This is available for download from the 'RELATED FILES' block.
Alternatively you can go direct to the official GALLERY site:
http://gallery.menalto.com
For the more brave the 'CUTTING EDGE' files can be download by using a CVS CLIENT and using the following line commands:
% cvs -d:pserver:anonymous@cvs.Gallery.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/gallery login
When it asks for a password just hit enter.
% cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonymous@cvs.Gallery.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/gallery co gallery
Once you have a version of Gallery that you've downloaded via CVS all you have to do is:
% sh configure.sh; cvs -z3 update -APd
Don't forget to put Gallery in config mode before doing the update or your setup directory won't get updated!

| | · A.2. I have downloaded GALLERY via my browser, now what? Using your uncompression software (WinZIP, etc) - uncompress the files in to your MODULES folder in your phpNUKE installation.
EXAMPLE:
yoursite.com/modules/gallery/

| | · A.3. How do I integrate Gallery 1.x into PHPNuke? It's really simple.
- Download Gallery to your server.
- Unzip it into your modules directory. You should now have a gallery directory inside your modules directory.
- Run the config wizard in Gallery to get everything set up.
- Activate your new module from the admin section of PHPNuke.
That's it. Easy, eh?
When you create your album directory, place it outside the Gallery module directory. As an example, here is my configuration:
Gallery directory:
/modules/gallery/
Album Directory:
/albums/
Make sure that the owner of the album directory is the user that the webserver runs as (usually nobody, apache, www, or some other name). Once you've completed this, upload your photos and you're ready to go. [ Back to Top ]
