NukedGallery - Gallery Logo Contest!!

beckett writes "Gallery needs a new logo, and we want your help! We want something catchy and fun, but clean and uncluttered. We would like the design to clearly convey what Gallery is all about. Grand Prize:
$200 US cash prize, and the pride of having your logo selected!
Runner-up Prize:
$50 US cash prize.
The contest deadline is Sunday October 26, 2003. When the deadline closes, we'll post all of the entries for comment from Gallery users. After a week or two, the Gallery developers will determine the winner, and unveil the results where else, but in a Gallery! Read on for the contest rules and details...

Contest Rules:

Anyone can enter!

You are welcome to submit more than one entry, but each entry should be separate.

The design cannot contain any copyrighted material without written approval from the owner. That means no stealing copyrighted images, fonts, or other people's work.

All submitted images will become the property of the Gallery project, but your authorship recognition will be retained.

If you've submitted a logo to us before, you're welcome to submit that for the contest.

The logo must contain the text "Gallery". If you like, you can add our motto "Your photos on your website".

It should be legible at large and small sizes.

It should look good against light and dark backgrounds (or have separate versions for each).

When we ship Gallery 2, we'll want to tack a "2" onto the name, so it should be easy to add.

You must submit an SVG (scalable vector graphics) format of your logo. If for some reason you can't create an SVG, please submit another common vector image format (e.g. EPS or Adobe Illustrator).

You are also encouraged to create smaller versions of your logo in PNG format, as well as versions for "Donate to Gallery" and "Powered by Gallery" buttons, as well as anything else that occurs to you. Common sizes include 88x31 pixels, and 80x15 pixels ("blog size"), but don't limit yourself to just that.

The submission deadline is Sunday, October 26, 2003.
