that the development of integrations has slowed somewhat. While the release of new updates has slowed, behind the scenes development has not.

The next version of Gallery, Gallery 2.3, will have some great new features available to integration developers. These features will allow integrations to:

• Render any G2 module block in the integration
• Over-ride G2 themes
• and more, to be outlined later

Well, without a doubt, Web 2.0 is here to stay. PHPNuke is very much a Web 1.0 product. What's next for NukedGallery? As with nature, we must evolve or face extinction. This is where you, the user community, comes into play.

NukedGallery.net is in need of a complete rebuild. This includes the look and feel, as well as the backend that powers the site. This rebuild should bring this site into the Web 2.0 era. AJAX login, logout, and sign-up forms, cool color palettes, and an overall slick user interface are among the things we're looking for.

The most critical portion of this migration will be the migration of the 20,000+ posts in the forums, and the 39,000+ users. If you think you are up to the task, please email me at design AT nukedgallery DOT net (replace the "AT" with "@" in the email address) for more information. There is no hard deadline on this, but it would be nice to get this completed by the end of the summer.

It's that time again. Since the last major re-design of the site in December 2004, lots of things have changed. Gallery has released Gallery 2 and NukedGallery has had spectacular growth in the number of visitors to the site, surpassing five million in October 2006, with no end in sight.

As such, I believe it's time for a fresh look for the site, not because the existing look is "old", but because I believe that a new design for the site is a logical companion to the ushering in of a new era, that of Gallery 2 and the continued growth of NukedGallery.

If you are a professional (or aspiring) graphic artist and you're interested in designing the new theme for this site, here are some basic guidelines to help you out:

• Your design must work with this site's version of PHPNuke, 6.8. (If you are a phpBB2 theme guru, submit a phpBB2 theme, as this site is ready to be ported over to phpBB2. If this is the case, please make sure it's compatible with the latest available version of phpBB2).
• You will be designing the following elements:
  • Main theme for the site, specifically an index page layout (note that this is currently done with a separate module, not the stock News module).
  • Corresponding theme for the forums.
  • Site logo
• Your design should be original, not based on any existing themes available for PHPNuke. Brand identity is important here :-)
• Your design should be clean and uncluttered.
• Your design should provide for an easy to use, intuitive navigation system (ie, breadcrumbs, etc).
• You must be willing to turn over full ownership of the theme to NukedGallery. You will receive full credit for the design in the footer, complete with a link to your site/business/service. Additionally, you will be assured that your theme will not be released by me to anyone else (I've turned down dozens of requests for copies of the theme currently in use, and will continue to do so).

My apologies for the downtime yesterday. For some reason, the hosting company that my reseller uses decided to shut down this site yesterday morning for unspecified reasons, other than stating that I "crashed their server". The possibility of this is slim to none, as no scripts are run on this site, no bots, no cron jobs. Either way, we are back up and running. Thanks for your patience :)

On Wednesday, 5 October, my wife and I are going to the hospital for a Caesarian section delivery of our first child. With the arrival of the little bundle of joy, the amount of time that I can spend replying to posts will be severly limited. July 14, 2005 - Two years ago today, NukedGallery.net was born, becoming the first site on the Web dedicated to supporting users of PHPNuke and Gallery in their quest for integration and customization. Read a little about our history here. Lots of things have changed since then, both in PHPNuke and in Gallery, but here at NukedGallery, we strive to consistantly provide the best support possible. Thanks for a great two years, and here's to many more!! :)
